Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Bundy Campus flies flag at major jobs expo 

CQUniversity Bundaberg staff members ensured the concept of 'tertiary education as a career booster' was represented during a major Centrelink Jobs Expo, held at the city's Civic Centre this week.

About 4250 people came through the doors to talk to 65 stand-holders and Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard attended to launch the event.

Promotions & Recruitment Officer Chantal Bewick said "we handed out over 160 undergraduate prospectuses and had extensive enquiries about the undegrad programs and bridging programs". 

"The day was a huge success for CQUniversity in promoting general awareness of the University and campus and of our programs," Chantal said.
