CQU has become a regional-level sponsor of the Management Excellence Awards, conducted by the Australian Institute of Management (AIM).
Commonwealth Bank General Manager (Queensland and NT) John Hoey, who is also the AIM Vice-Chairman, launched the awards at an AIM function in Rockhampton last month (March 30).
The Management Excellence Awards are a great way for members of the business community to gain recognition for their work and to nominate colleagues or managers who stand out from the crowd. Awards are given in the following categories:.
Professional Manager of the Year.
Owner Manager of the Year.
Young Manager of the Year.
Rural/Remote Manager of the Year.
And also a medal for management innovation which is an invitation only award.
Nominations close on Friday June 30 and last date for applications is Friday July 14. Rockhampton regional finalists will be announced at a gala dinner to be held on September 8 2006.
John Hoey also gave a speech regarding Developing a Positive Organisational Culture, which was well received and generated some interesting questions from the audience.
Applications and further details of the awards are available at:. http://www.managementawards.com.au .
