Barbecue backing for Childhood Cancer Support

Childhood Cancer Support will again profit from funds raised at a CQUniversity barbecue this week.

In the past seven years, organiser Karen Reynolds has raised over $11,000 for the local charity by selling drinks, chips and other sweet treats.

This year a lunch-time barbecue was well attended by staff from across the University and even included some TAFE visitors who were on campus.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman thanked Karen and her team for making the effort to stage the successful event.

This week's event raised around $400 and the money will go into a final amount to be given to the Childhood Cancer Support team at the end of the year.
