Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

International students celebrate before heading home 

About 50 international students attended a Going Home Ceremony last Wednesday, at Central Queensland University Rockhampton.

PhotoID:2261 Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Jack Wood presented the certificates to the students at the ceremony.

Each term the University holds this ceremony for students that are eligible to graduate however may be unable to stay in Australia to attend the graduation ceremony.

The students came from South Africa, Philippines, Canada, Norway, India, Brazil, China, Sweden, Republic of Korea, South Korea, USA, Germany, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
