Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Wolfs and Miles involved in Sustainable Tropical Architecture Forum 

Associate Professor Peter Wolfs and Professor Bob Miles, of CQU, are among speakers for the Sustainable Tropical Architecture Forum to be held next Wednesday, October 6.

The forum is being conducted in Rockhampton as part of the Year of Built Environment 2004 (YBE2004).

It will focus on climate, sustainability and energy usage issues relating to the built environment in the tropics.

The forum will be opened by Wayne Petrie, Chair of the YBE2004 Queensland Steering Committee and will conclude with a panel discussion led by Dr Paula Whitman, President of the Queensland Chapter of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.

Other speakers are coming from Brisbane and Townsville.
