Recognising Local Achievers Central Queensland University's top academic performers will receive international recognition for their achievement at "key" ceremonies this month and next.
The top 15 percent of undergraduate students have been invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society, which rewards academic excellence.
About 300 of the 450 CQU students from the Rockhampton and Gladstone campuses who were invited to join the society this year are expected to attend a member recognition ceremony at the Rockhampton Sports Centre at CQU's North Rockhampton campus on Monday, May 20 from 6.30pm.
Students joining the society receive recognition for their academic success and are eligible to apply for international scholarships.
Golden Key has links with about 350 universities around the world with more than 1500 CQU students invited to become members since CQU joined the society last year. Membership can boost career opportunities following graduation because about 150 corporations in Australia and Asia recognise Golden Key members. The Society also provides international networking opportunities with 600 organisations in the US and Canada involved with the program.
Membership ceremonies will also be held at CQU Bundaberg on May 17 and at CQU Mackay on June 28.
