Faculty sponsors excursion to encourage Japanese study

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education has presented $500 to Yeppoon High School to support students on an excursion to Japan in September.

PhotoID:3064 Faculty spokesperson Jim Jensen said the excursion would encourage students to study the Japanese language and perhaps influence a decision to enrol in the Bachelor of Learning Management (Japanese).

Eighteen students will travel to Japan.

Yeppoon High has been a long-time supporter of languages, especially Japanese, as part of its cultural awareness program.

The Yeppoon High School community accommodates many Japanese student-teachers on exchange and numerous Japanese high school students for shorter home-stays every year.
