Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Graduates farewelled by expert on ethics 

Sydney Campus graduates will be farewelled with an extra dose of ethical wisdom ... their guest speaker is Dr Ray Younis* who has an international track record in the field.

A total of 227 graduates from 24 different countries will celebrate during the ceremony, from 2pm on Monday, May 11, at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour.

The State Director awards recipients are Melantha Kannangara - Bachelor of Information Technology (Information Systems) - and Sanjeev Prasad Pandey - Master of Professional Accounting. Melantha is also doing the response speech on behalf of graduates.

Chancellor Rennie Fritschy and Vice-Chancellor and President Professor John Rickard will officiate.

* His book On the Ethical Life will be published in the Cambridge Scholars series in 2009.
