Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Ever-smiling Rockhampton Campus staff member Wendy Tinney has been recognised with a Pride of Workmanship award, presented by the Rotary Club of Rockhampton East.

Since coming to CQUniversity 20 years ago as a trainee with the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Wendy has worked in four different roles and has experienced several restructures.

She is currently employed as Executive Assistant to the Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) in the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Health.

Rotary Club member Dawn Hay says "Wendy is highly valued by academics and administrative staff for her high level of knowledge and communication skills and her processes to get work done".
