Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU staff are encouraged to suggest email addresses of people who may be interested in receiving special 'community' editions of UniNews.

These special editions focus on events and initiatives available to the public, but otherwise are similar to the main edition.

Prospective recipients will be approached to join our subscription lists, but will have the opportunity to remove themselves from the list at any time.

The only special edition currently active is focused on Rockhampton, but recipients from other places are able to receive the main UniNews until an edition becomes available for their relevant community.
