Contributions welcome for Learning and Teaching Management Plan

CQU is undertaking a major review of the Management Plan for Learning and Teaching.

The review is being led by Professor Alex Radloff, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Services), and will involve consultation and input from staff, students and other stakeholders, as outlined below.

Stage 1. Development of a first draft of the Plan by a Think Tank consisting of CQU staff who have a record of involvement, interest and expertise in learning and teaching (completed in August).

Stage 2. Input into the draft Plan from staff and students via a website; through open forums at regional campuses and AICs; and consultations with specific stakeholders including ADLTs, HoSs, and Student Association, in September.

Stage 3. Submission of the draft Plan to ECAB and relevant Faculty committees for comment in October.

Stage 4. Endorsement of final draft Plan by ECAB and approval by Academic Board, in November.

Stage 5. Official Launch of Plan in December.

Stage 6. Implementation of Plan from January 2007 onwards.

Stage 1 of the process has been completed. The Think Tank involving approximately 30 staff from across the University was held on Wednesday, August 30, in Rockhampton, and provided constructive input into the development of the first draft of the Plan including identification of priorities, goals and actions.

We are now at Stage 2 of the process, with the first draft of the Plan available for comment via the Academic Board website:.

www.cqu.edu.au/academic_board/currentissues/LTManagementPlan.htm .

A Walking Party approach will take the draft Plan to the following campuses where a forum will be held to further workshop the draft Plan, and identify responsibilities for the activities within the Plan:.

Mackay September 8.

Gladstone September 11.

Bundaberg September 12.

Rockhampton September 14.

Brisbane September 19.

Sydney September 20.

Melbourne September 21.

All staff and students are urged to engage with the development of this Plan and commit to working together to support the outcomes identified in the Plan.
