The Easter weekend is a busy time in Gladstone with numerous events being held around the region, including the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.
This year the official race presentations were held at the Gladstone campus in the Rex Metcalfe Lecture theatre.
Commodore of the Port Curtis Sailing Club and Gladstone STEPS coordinator, Lynne Campbell said holding the presentation ceremony at the campus was an excellent way to show off the facilities to competitors from around Australia.
“There were 50 yachts involved in the race this year and the yachties were very impressed with the facilities at the campus,” said Ms Campbell.
Line honours went to 'Heaven Can Wait' from Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron while Gladstone yacht, 'Immigrant' placed third in its division of the race.
