Milking benefits of a million steps

Central Queesland University based 10,000 Steps project, with the assistance of PhysiCAL Milk, is set to kick off the next step in relation to increasing your activity levels and improving your overall health. Commencing on August 11 the PhysiCAL MILK MILLION STEPS will encourage people to turn their daily physical activity goal into a long-term habit by accumulating steps across days, weeks, and months.

PhotoID:979 Tracking your step count on a daily basis towards an overall goal is an enjoyable way to increase your activity levels. Everyone needs a goal and this may just be the one for you. ONE MILLION STEPS is equal to one-hundred, 10,000-step days. But, true to our slogan, every step counts stated Kerry Mummery 10,000 Steps Project Leader.

All that is required is to accumulate ONE MILLION STEPS before the end of the year to qualify for project-based rewards and prizes. Everyone can chase their ONE MILLION STEP goal at their own pace.

Tracking your steps towards ONE MILLION will be done with either a paper-based calendar that will be available from The Morning Bulletin, Hot FM or the 10,000 Steps Office at Central Queesland University along with selected PhysiCAL Milk stockers. If you are hooked up to the Internet, you can use the automatic step log which will track and accumulate your steps automatically.

Need a pedometer? 10,000 Steps and The Morning Bulletin are offering readers the chance to win 1 of 10 pedometers. Simply post into the 10,000 Steps Office 3 PhysiCAL Milk labels with your name and contact details. Competition closes at the end of August with winners notified September 3rd. Starting a physical activity habit takes a bit of time, and the PhysiCAL MILK MILLION STEPS will provide you the goal you need to establish that new habit.
