CQU initiates new campus group

Central Queensland University Vice-Chancellor Professor Glenice Hancock has announced the establishment of a new university campus network.

The network is to be known as the Regional Campus Group.

Professor Hancock said that “with its wealth of experience as a multi-campus regionally based institution, CQU was pleased to initiate the group." There has been nationwide support for the initiative. Membership has been drawn from non-metropolitan regional campuses, which have multidisciplinary course offerings and enrolments of from 500 to 2000 students.

Professor Hancock said that “CQU is sponsoring the group as we can see significant benefits accruing from the interaction among these campuses”.

The Regional Campus Group has been established to assist members in Quality Assurance Benchmarking and to provide opportunities for collaborative and comparative research.

It is also expected to facilitate staff exchange, and to provide a forum for sharing ideas particularly related to community engagement and student recruitment.
