Change is imminent for long-time CQUniversity employee Dr Marilyn Fisher as she leaves the University to work in private practice.
Tomorrow (Friday) will be the last day on campus for Marilyn, who has spent the past 17 years in a variety of roles from Director of Counselling to University Change Manager and more recently Manager, Planning and Professional Development.
Dr Marilyn Fisher will leave CQUniversity this Friday after 17 years of service. She has also been a vital force in managing academic staff development activities and has recently assisted in the establishment of the University's Psychology Wellness Centre.
Looking back on her years at CQUniversity, Marilyn believes she's been lucky enough to have been engaged in a variety of interesting roles and has seen the University evolve into what it is today.
"I have had the opportunity to undertake a range of interesting roles both at the University and in the community - seeing the University survive and thrive," Marilyn said.
"The University continues to be an important resource for the community. It is great to see the renewed involvement of the University with the community."
Some of the more rewarding roles Marilyn has held while at the University include Chair of the Capricornia Childcare Services Board 1999-2006 and the Vice-Chancellor's nominee on the Central Queensland University Student Association Board from 2002 to 2007.
She also regards her election to the position of Co-president of the Australian New Zealand Student Services Association from 1997 to 1999 as a prominent moment in her career to date.
Next week will see Marilyn begin work in private practice as a psychologist.
The University wishes her all the best in her new endeavours.
