CQU Mackay rewards academic successes

CQU Mackay held a prize giving ceremony for students earlier this month.
The evening function began with a cocktail reception and was attended by over 100 prize winners, family, friends and prize donors in the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music foyer.
Head of Mackay Campus Professor Trevor Davison was the MC for the evening and highlighted the importance of stopping to smell the roses and acknowledging academic success.
Professor Davison also thanked community members and organisations who continue to support the university and its students by providing these annual prizes.

CQCM Graduating Student Timothy Kirkwood won two prizes at the CQU ceremony, awarded the North Jacklin Nissan Prize for Best Jazz Student of the Year and the CQCM Student of the Year sponsored jointly by Porters Home and Building Centre, Peggy Goode, Mackay Sugar Cooperative Association Ltd and the Mackay West Rotary Club. He was presented with his award by Gavan Porter of Porters Home & Building Centre, left.
