Seen by over 2,500 people in Mackay, the show has been hailed a success by children, teachers and parents alike.
"The feedback we had from teachers were outstanding," said Kim Kirkman, lecturer and co-writer.
"Comments ranged from "one of the best shows I have seen for preschool/prep children," to "we asked the children to rate the show from 1 - 10, every child gave it a 10!"
The competition, held at the Sofitel in Melbourne, has attracted entries from most of the universities in Australia.
"This is CQUniversity Mackay's first time in SIFE and we hope to make it through the first round - that would be a major success," Kim said.
School children enjoy the Mighty Foods the Musical. Next year the SIFE team plan to write and produce a new show, Mighty Foods Saves the Circus and plans to package and promote the current show to other centres to put on for their communities.
