Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU hosts national weed detection project training 

CQU Rockhampton is the venue for weed recognition training arranged via the National Weed Detection Project.

Queensland Herbarium senior botanist John Thompson will give weed spotters the skills and knowledge to identify a number of weeds in the Rockhampton region. National Weed Detection project officer Jane Morton will also attend.

The event will be held from 8.30am to 3pm on Thursday, February 23 in the building 17 Biological Sciences area.
