Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

 - In 2008 Jordan was involved in TOSCA, a multimedia performance project based on the famous opera.  This production was produced and directed by Kim Kirkman, ex-founder of the Ten Tenors and lecturer from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Mackay.

 - In 2009 Jordan had his film debut in the professional arthouse film called Synchronicity, produced and directed by Steve Mayer-Meller, Artistic Director of Crossroad Arts and presented as part of the Mackay Festival of Arts.

 - In 2009 Jordan was cast as the Wolf in Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods directed by internationally renowned opera director John Wregg.  This production was staged at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in August this year to rave reviews.

 "I still see people in the street who say 'Hey, you were the Wolf in that show at the Con weren't you'," Jordan says.
