Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Interest grows for rugby reunion 

Considerable interest has been generated by a proposed reunion of the Institute Rugby Union Club and dates have been set for the event.

The Institute club was a forerunner of the current University club.

A meet and greet will take place from 5pm on Friday, April 15, 2005, at the Oxford Hotel in Rockhampton's East Street.

On Saturday, April 16, participants will join spectators for a University Rugby Union club game, before enjoying a dinner at the Bird Cage Bar at CQU Rockhampton.

On Sunday, the itinerary includes a bus tour and barbecue lunch at Rugby Park.

Reunion organiser Gary Flower said considerable interest was being generated from points as far as Darwin, Gove, Melbourne and Adelaide.
