CQU Mackay hosts careers evening

Adult learners, high school students and parents are invited to attend the Careers Evening being held at Central Queensland University Mackay, Boundary Road, Planlands on Wednesday September 15, from 5.30pm to 7pm.

“This is a once a year opportunity to visit Mackay campus and gather information on each faculty and the many courses of study available through Central Queensland University,” said Head of Campus Phillip Clift.

Associate Professor Clift said, “anyone who is considering a change in career or further studies in 2005 is invited to attend the evening, in particular year 12 students and those interested in mature age entry.".

There are many support programs available to students on campus, including the STEPS program, which assists people who have not studied recently or who are considering a return to study as an adult learner.

Associate Professor Clift said, “careers evenings like this are very popular as they give prospective students the opportunity to speak with lecturers and to tour the campus facilities, making the prospect of university study all the more appealing.”
