Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Music theatre graduate co-stars in 'West Side Story' 

Matthew Ward, a graduate of CQU's Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, is co-starring as 'Tony' among a 41-strong cast for the Gold Coast Arts Centre production of 'A West Side Story' (September 21-28).

PhotoID:3424 Matthew has had plenty of experience on stage since completing a Diploma of Music Theatre with CQCM in 1998.

His resume includes roles in 'Godspell', 'Jekyll & Hyde', '42nd Street', 'Chess' and 'Joseph & His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat', as well as performances at the Sydney Cabaret Convention.

He completed a graduate singer, actor, dancer course with the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in 2000.

According to the 'Gold Coast Sun', Matthew has spent the past few years between his Australian performances and undertaking courses in New York.
