Performing Arts students to entertain crowds

CQU’s Bachelor of Performing Arts students will showcase their trans-disciplinary approach to the performing arts when they take to the stage at the CQU Multicultural Fair and Open Day on Sunday.

The student body of performing artists have performed to wide acclaim at this event for the last 5 years and this year they will be presenting a showcase of musical and dance skills for the audience’s enjoyment.

The performers then take to the Main Stage at 12.20pm to showcase excerpts from the upcoming production of the Broadway smash hit A Chorus Line. This production will be directed by industry mentors for the Bachelor of Performing Arts Wayne Scott Kermond (Singin’ in the Rain and A Chorus Line) and Katie Kermond (Chicago the musical) and will be performed at the Pilbeam Theatre from October 13 and 14 with tickets on sale from Monday August 15 from the Theatre’s box office.

Alongside these performances the audience will have the opportunity to experience a student choreographed piece derived from the traditions of South African Gum Boot Dancing.
