Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Melbourne campus celebrates Australia Day 

CQU Melbourne International Campus celebrated Australia Day with platters of lamingtons, Australian native flowers, green and gold balloons and an Australian slang competition.

PhotoID:3737 The event celebrated what is wonderful about being Australian, emphasising our tolerance, our multicultural diversity, ethnic backgrounds, racial differences and political viewpoints in Australian society.

Posters and brochures were distributed to students.

The campus also promoted the abundant official Australia Day festivities and events around Melbourne and Victoria through the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Government’s Australia Day Victoria.
