Students studying to become teachers will move into a new tutorial room this semester after recent campus renovations at CQU Gladstone.
Faculty of Education and Creative Arts sub-dean, Dr Beverley Moriarty said the room was recently outfitted to create a dynamic and interactive teaching space.
“The room has been designed especially for the needs of our students and staff and includes art sink, art tables, a drama stage, display fittings, a data projector and storage area.
“Our new room will help us to match the 21st century teaching strategies that will enable our students to become life-long learners.
“A tutorial class will now be able to access resources, discuss and create new ideas and display work samples as well as access modern technology, all within the one room,” said Dr Moriarty.
Dr Moriarty said the Education and Creative Arts team of lecturers were looking forward to having a permanent location after many years of carting boxes of resources from room to room.
Over 100 Bachelor of Learning Management students will use the room that is expected to be fully completed in time for the first week of classes that begins on March 8.
