Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Catts back for Lifelong Learning event 

Former CQU staff member Dr Ralph Catts (pictured third from left) returned to the region as a presenter for the Lifelong Learning Conference in Yeppoon this week.

PhotoID:1568 Dr Catts is now a Senior Research Fellow based at Stirling University in Scotland. He spoke about reflections and projections.

Keynotes for the event included Dr Mairin Kenny from Trinity College in Dublin, Dr Hunter R. Boylan from Appalachian State University and Make your Point consultant Francesca Beddie.

Around 200 participants from all states of Australia and 12 overseas countries attended the 3rd International Lifelong Learning Conference at Rydges Capricorn Resort from June 13-16.
