According to the annual report's ratings manager, Richard Evered, graduates from regional Queensland, as a cohort, "were among the nation's most employed and best paid".

The University received 5-out-of 5 stars for Access as well as Graduate Starting Salaries, with 4 stars for Positive Graduate Outcomes. The Good Unis Guide also reported solid results for Teaching Quality and Entry Flexibility. (see major results below).

The editors say that CQUni's "focus on integrated workplace learning ensures good student outcomes and excellent salaries that rate well against national figures".

CQUniversity is also "making grounds in areas of national priority with nursing graduates amongst the best paid and most employed nationally with their field" according to the report.

"Access and outcomes are areas in which CQUniversity leads the nation. We want to build on that; make CQUniversity even more relevant and meaningful to more Central Queenslanders. Over the next few years we'll introduce new programs in areas such as allied health and natural resources and build-up Central Queensland's university cities  -- Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Mackay," said Professor Scott Bowman, who started his second week as CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor today.

"I don't think we're delivering all the courses a region 4 times the size of Victoria needs," explains Professor Bowman, who, on his first day last week introduced 2-, 5- and 10-year plans for CQUniversity that focus on the needs of regional Queenslanders.

Since 2001 (10 years) CQUniversity has rated 4 or 5 stars, top scores, for Graduate Starting Salaries and Positive Graduate Outcomes.
