Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Online learning leader guest for Sydney graduation

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the learn.ed solutions Group - an Internet online learning business - was guest speaker for CQUniversity Sydney's graduation ceremony on Tuesday December 9.

Hong Kong-based Gary Chua addressed 322 graduates representing more than 30 nationalities during the event at the Grand Harbour Ballroom, Star City.

The Graduate delivering the Closing Address on Behalf of the Graduates was Ms Mariya Kysel'ova.

There were also 2 teaching excellence awards presented to Dr Ergun Gide - the Vice-Chancellor's Teacher of the Year Award and the Australian International Campuses Award for Teaching Excellence.
