Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Research Training Scheme announced 

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & Research) Ron Davies has announced details of the Central Queensland University Staff Development by Research program.

PhotoID:404 Any continuing CQU academic staff member who is admitted to candidature in a research higher degree at Central Queensland University, commencing before 31 March 2003, will be guaranteed a funded Research Training Scheme Place.

Candidates will need to apply through the normal process of completing and submitting an application form and will need to meet entry criteria to be considered in the usual selection process.

Applications for research higher degree admission at CQU are presently open. Application kits are available through the Office of Research on 07 4923 2602.

“We’re encouraging staff to consider the challenge of a research higher degree at the university,” said Jennifer Brett, Research Higher Degrees Officer, Office of Research. Applications for admission will be accepted up until 14 March 2003.
