Kendall's life 'consumed by music'

Bachelor of Music student Kendall Layt says her life is 'consumed by music' and she is looking forward to a busy year at CQU's Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Mackay.

The first-year double bass and bass guitar specialist has already joined campus jazz and pop combos and she also has recent experience in a rock group.

She played bass for a support act - 'Water Junkie Manifesto' at Youth Group's Rockfest concert in Rockhampton in 2007.

Kendall attended Rockhampton High School and got involved in youth politics, initially with Rockhampton's Youth Council and later with the Queensland Youth Parliament.

She has just been notified as this year's Member for Parliament for Mackay in the Queensland Youth Parliament.

Despite enjoying the political experience and also being a keen artist, she said music was her true calling and she was looking forward to opportunities for performance.
