All welcome to hear about climate for change

CQUniversity will showcase the wide array of careers and new technologies in science to celebrate National Science Week, held from August 16 - 24 this year.

A highlight of the celebrations will be a presentation by Natalie Hatch, one of the 250 Australian participants in The Climate Project, Al Gore's climate change leadership program, and a Science teacher at North Rockhampton State High School.

The free community presentation will be from 5.30pm-6.30pm on Wednesday August 20.

Marketing Co-ordinator for the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering & Health, Amelia Tomlinson, said CQUniversity was excited to have Natalie come and speak about what she learned from the former US Vice-President and Nobel Peace Prize Winner, as well as about the challenges we face in a changing environment.

"With the climate change in the public spotlight a lot at the moment, this is a great opportunity for members of the community to come along, see the presentation, and get a bit more of an understanding of exactly what we're facing now and in the future," Ms Tomlinson said.

The theme of this year's annual celebration of science is Planet Earth: Planet of Change, and Natalie's presentation will be a key part of this.
