Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Uni-hosted concert supports native wildlife 

A concert sponsored by CQUniversity and hosted at the 'Con' Theatre on Mackay Campus aims to support native animals, left starving and injured by recent fires and floods.

Concert pianist Ambre Hammond has joined with local artist Candice Arlott to raise funds for animal treatment and rehabilitation.

The concert will be held from 8pm on Sunday, April 5 (after a Charity Auction starting at 7pm). Tickets can be booked for $35 (adults) via 07 4961 9777 or mec.boxoffice@mackay.qld.gov.au.

People can support the cause by purchasing tickets, donating items for the auction or raffle or by making a cash donation on the night (or in a special box at the campus admin area).
