Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Learning and teaching showcase has a social side

CQU's Learning and Teaching showcase participants and supporters gathered for a social function on Thursday night.

PhotoID:3671 The Showcase included keynote speaker Dr Gary Poole from the University of British Columbia, Canada; a student panel discussion; presentations by CQU staff and academics from elsewhere in Australia; and a debate on the teaching-research nexus.

The Showcase was held at CQU Rockhampton, with video links to other regional and Australian International Campuses.
