VC thanked for regional development support

Vice-Chancellor Professor Glenice Hancock has been thanked for facilitating provision of new premises for the Central Queensland Area Consultative Committee's regional office.

A crowd of 100 was on hand to witness the official opening of the premises by Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson (July 16).

The CQACC is now located in a "highly visible" shopfront on the ground floor of CQU's building on the corner of East and Fitzroy streets (the former Commonwealth building).

The University and the CQACC signed an agreement in March this year to cooperate on economic, social, and cultural development of the region.

The consultative committee, uniquely positioned to identify opportunities, will work with CQU to deliver knowledge and solutions to our communities and businesses.

The CQACC can be contacted via 4921 3639 or cqacc@cqnet.com.au .
