The World Congress of Chiropractic Students helps advance and unite the global chiropractic profession by encouraging integrity and leadership coupled with academic excellence.

Taking part in the Conference for the second year, Natalia's voting membership allowed her to vote on matters bought up at the congress.

"Being a part of WCCS is beyond rewarding...and it will put CQUniversity's chiropractic program on the map internationally and hopefully build the reputation of the fantastic chiropractic program at CQU," Natalia said.

"It is a filled with intelligent people who are challenging and yet supportive. I have made so many friends, from all over the world who have taught me so much."

As a second-year student studying a Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) at CQUniversity Mackay, Natalia said being away family and friends in Melbourne was challenging but the journey has been extremely rewarding so far.

"By attending the WCCS world conference, chiropractic students at CQUniversity are now able to share opportunities with the wider community of students attending many other chiropractic programs in universities all over the world, while having the advantage of one-on-one teaching and support to travel to these events.

"During the next three years I hope to utilise the opportunities that CQUni offers so that I can become the best chiropractor I can be."

Natalia hopes to study her Masters in Paediatric Chiropractic at the Anglican European Chiropractic College (AECC) in the UK and to practice in the Netherlands - where she lived for 12 months after finishing school.

"I chose Chiropractic Science because I wanted to be in a growing and developing health profession where I could provide positive health care.

"Personally while I enjoy helping people, if the option is available, I would prefer a less medical approach to health care, so chiropractic was the suitable alternative to traditional medicine.  I can provide care to assist a wide range of people achieve their true health potential."

Mackay chiropractor Matthew Doyle congratulated Natalia last week on her attainment of voting membership.  Dr Doyle was a past Australian student delegate to WCSS during his time of study in Melbourne under Professor Phillip Ebrall, now head of the CQUniversity chiropractic program.  Prof Ebrall served as World President of the WCCS and Chair of the first Congress held outside North America during his student days in the mid-1980s.

"I am delighted to see CQUniversity students, with the support of the Mackay chiropractic community, establish active engagement with the WCCS," Prof Ebrall said.
