CQU Publishing Unit upgrades services

The new year starts off with a new look at services offered by the CQU Publishing Unit (pictured). Tony Bertolotti, Unit Manager, gives details on services available.

Colour Copying – Having your short run (up to 200 copies double sided) colour work printed has been made easy with the introduction of the Canon colour printer at the Publishing Unit. This printer uses the latest in colour and toner technology to produce "offset like" prints. Either email your word, Publisher or PDF file to Tracey (t.kerry@cqu.edu.au) or telephone her on 9781. The unit can also do "off the glass" colour copying.

PhotoID:520 Mailing Service –The CQU Publishing Unit has the capabilities to take care of most mailing needs. It can print the letter, brochure, insert etc and then have them inserted into a DLX or C5 envelope. If the correspondence is personalised, it can be inserted into a window face envelope. If it is a generic mail-out, all components can be inserted into the envelope and the recipient’s name and address can be printed on the face for mailing. No more labels. All you need to do in this case is send us a CSV (Excel) file of the recipients and their addresses and the Unit will do the rest. Envelopes up to C4 (A4) can also be overprinted with the recipients name and address but are too large to be inserted.

Outside printing – The Publishing Unit prints and copies work related to the operation of the University. It does not compete with commercial printers. The unit has partnerships with local printers to complete projects beyond on-campus capabilities. If this occurs, the Publishing Unit will obtain the 3 quotes needed to purchase externally and follow through to ensure the project is delivered on time and to the accepted CQU standards. This cost will then be recharged as per the account code on you requisition.

Laminating – Have your posters, photos, colour prints etc laminated. The Unit currently offers laminating from A5 to A2.

To find out more about how the Publishing Unit can help you with your copying and printing, please phone Tony on X9624, Tracey on X9781.
