Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Tannum Sands drummer back with a blast 

Former Tannum Sands drummer Alex Nesevski will be back in town with a blast on Thursday October 30, when ConJazz arrives for performances in Tannum Sands and Gladstone.

It's been a busy final year of his jazz degree for Alex as he enjoyed a student exchange at the University of Louisville Jazz School and was heavily involved in performances arranged by the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music at CQUniversity Mackay.

The tour is running from October 27-November 1:

- Oct 27-28 Sunshine Coast

- Oct 29 Bundaberg - workshop/performance for schools in area

- Oct 30 Tannum Sands/Gladstone

- Oct 31 Rockhampton

- Nov 1 Rockhampton - workshop/performance for schools in area
