CQU Computer Systems Update; as of 4PM, Tuesday 5 November
Published on 05 November, 2002
Computer systems at Central Queensland University remained intact Tuesday following a disruption of service caused Friday night when a fire destroyed equipment that supplied “clean” electricity to campus servers and other communications equipment.
Email service to about 700 staff, which was interrupted yesterday due to a disk failure, has been restored. Officials expect a new uninterruptible power supply (which supplies “clean” power to the system) will be installed within a few business days.
Staff and students may experience periodic interruptions in service until an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is established.
