Northern Sydney Institute agreement smooths pathways from TAFE to Uni

CQU has smoothed the pathway between TAFE and University by signing a Joint Activity Agreement (JAA) with the Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE.
This move complements an existing agreement with the CBD-based Sydney Institute of TAFE and is expected to be enhanced via agreements with other Institutes of TAFE in the future.
Dean International Programs Professor Debbie Clayton thanked CQU Sydney International Campus staff Anne Aziz-Parker, Andy Kelly and Campus Director Dr Doug Hinchliffe for arranging the JAA in consultation with CQU. "This is an important linkage for CQU, particularly Sydney International Campus which will work the relationship on the ground in Sydney," Professor Clayton said.
The JAA will foster pathways, particularly for International students to CQU.
Currently the Institute has 55,000 students. It has 400 international students studying at sites in Australia and others at several sites in China where it is delivering Diploma programs. For example, at one site in China there are more than 400 students studying the TAFE NSW IT curriculum CQU will now commence recruiting from these offshore sites.
Professor Clayton thanked the Faculty of Informatics and Communication for providing the articulations to its programs so promptly that they could be ready for the signing.
Under the JAA, the Northern Sydney Institute will market pathways to CQU and CQU will also highlight this in recruitment activity.
