Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

VC launches new content management systems 

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard conducted the official launch for CQU's new content management systems this week.

After a welcome address by Division of Teaching & Learning Services Director Dr Jeanne McConachie, University webmaster (and academic information systems team head) Bill Gonch discussed content management systems in general.

Registrar and Chief Compliance Officer Ken Window joined Sue Jensen and Jo Luck to discuss University policies and glossary systems.

Mike Donahue and Leonie Challacombe discussed the web kiosk and handbook systems.

Irene Sharrock, Ronda White and Janet Pleash discussed the course profile system.

The launch was followed by a demonstration of all five applications in the new Content Management System.

The event was videoconferenced to rooms at Bundaberg, Gladstone and Mackay campuses and the Rockhampton City Centre.
