Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Tourism graduate finds national niche 

CQU Bachelor of Tourism graduate Kimberley Harmsworth is now Policy Officer, International Tourism, in the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources in Canberra.

PhotoID:1311 Ms Harmsworth applied for a graduate position with the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources (DITR) in Canberra and received the job offer two days into her honeymoon! "Within months, I had married, bought a new car, moved interstate and started a new job," she said.".
