Ken Raff has served the Central Queensland community with distinction over many years through his involvement in the Anglican Church, CQUniversity and a range of community based organisations.  He is one of only two Anglican priests to have served the whole of his ministry in the Diocese of Rockhampton after his ordination in 1959.

While initially serving as a parish priest, Ken's special skills in the business and financial area, arising from his formal training which include a Commerce degree from the University of Queensland, were utilised by the Anglican Church with dual appointments as Rockhampton Diocesan Registrar and Treasurer.  It was in these roles where Ken made a major contribution to the business affairs of the Church including the management of the then financially ailing St John's Hospital which the Church had recently purchased.

His achievements through the Anglican Church include the successful management of a major Rockhampton private hospital, involvement in the running of a local orphanage and the establishment of family group homes in Rockhampton, as well as the establishment of the Anglican Welfare Agency Careforce which later became Anglicare CQ.

As the co-ordinator of first year accounting studies at CQUniversity from 1989 to 1998, Ken was a caring and highly committed educator who worked tirelessly with many local and international students, often outside lecture and tutorial times, assisting with their understanding of accounting concepts and helping them to improve their English skills.

Ken also found time to contribute to a range of community organisations including Marriage Guidance and Relationships Australia where he was involved in various roles for 37 years including as Chairman of the Rockhampton Committee and Treasurer of the National Executive.

Ken is a selfless individual who has devoted his life to assisting others both as an ordained member of the Anglican Church and as a lecturer at CQUniversity.
