'To eat or not to eat' - that is the question

Central Queensland University Theatre in Education students presented two performances for Central Queensland primary school children at the Rockhampton campus this week.
Children from The Caves State School attended Tuesday's performance, while about 70 children from throughout Central Queensland attended Wednesday's.
Twenty-one of the children attending Wednesday's performance were 'school of the air' students who reside on properties throughout the region. Up to 50 children from Crescent Lagoon State School also attended.
The production, which was sponsored by PCAP (Priority Country Areas Program), promoted audience interaction and included a 90-minute workshop and 90-minute play.
CQU's Lecturer in Drama Howard Cassidy said his drama students had produced an interactive theatre piece centred on the theme 'to eat or not to eat'.
"The workshop focused on issues such as body image, the power of advertising and bullying," Mr Cassidy said.
"The Drama students interweaved the children's ideas into the play and encouraged them to participate in the performance." "Up to 90 people were involved in the performance in the afternoon." Mr Cassidy believed the theme of the play is very topical for the primary school children.
"I am thrilled with my student's decision to focus on these issues as it fits well with the schools' curriculum."
