Dr Webster wind-swept and interesting

Dr Barbara Webster, from the School of Humanities, has been swept up by public attention thanks to the 55th anniversary of a cyclonic event and a high-school forum.
Dr Webster has done radio, television and newspaper interviews recalling the 1949 cyclone which caused damage, death and injury to the communities of Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Emu Park and Gladstone.
The cyclone managed to cause an unusual amount of damage as it tracked along the Fitzroy River to reach Rockhampton.
Dr Webster also shared a podium with Senator John Cherry and Queensland Minister Robert Schwarten during a district senior school forum hosted by Rockhampton High School. Her topic was the history of the Senate.
