Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Peak body gives education degrees a clean slate 

CQUniversity's innovative Learning Management programs have received renewed approval from the Queensland Council of Teachers, after a comprehensive review panel process.

Head of our School of Learning and Innovation David Turner has congratulated staff members involved in recent reviews of Bachelor of Learning Management programs in the areas of Early Childhood and Primary education and the Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching.

He said there were many positive comments about:


* Measures introduced to improve consistency of program delivery across campuses
* Strong partnerships and programs with schools
* Embedded Professional Learning Experiences that transition students well to the workplace
* Enabling schools to develop ownership in preparing teachers
* Small campus delivery enabling connectedness with schools and students.

"The Panel expressed appreciation to the representatives of the University for their excellent preparation for the visit in terms of the materials provided and the arrangements for a representative group of stakeholders to engage with the Panel," Mr Turner said.
