Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Relay for Life teams begin to register 

More than 20 teams have registered for the 2005 Rockhampton Relay for Life event, due to be held at CQU Rockhampton's athletics track on the weekend of May 14-15.

PhotoID:1832 Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the Queensland Cancer Fund. This will be the third year it has been held at CQU Rockhampton.

Organisers are hoping up to 100 teams will take part in the fun overnight event, featuring a walking or running relay and on-site camping and entertainment.

Registrations are now open for teams of 10-15 people. Details and forms are available by calling 1300 65 65 85 or via the www.relayforlife.com.au website.
