Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Event embraces capsicums, learning and living well in Bundaberg 

Bundaberg's Research Showcase program includes a FREE evening of speakers, with topics ranging from Capsicums, carbon and conservation to Engaged Learning and Living Well in Bundaberg.

The evening from 6pm-7.30pm on Monday, April 4, culminates in a keynote address by visiting academic Dr Harley Stanton, whose theme on 'connectivity' relates to the end of London's cholera outbreak through removal of the handle of the Broad Street water pump.

Dr Stanton's presentation will draw on his travels to 65 countries for health and lifestyle projects, including national and international efforts to reduce tobacco use.

Bundaberg's Professor Phil Brown heads the speakers addressing Capsicums, carbon and conservation in relation to current research and new developments in agriculture.

Associate Professor Helen Huntly heads the speakers addressing Engaged Learning in Bundaberg in relation to current research and new developments in education.

Professor Andy Bridges heads the speakers addressing Living Well in Bundaberg in relation to current research and new developments in community health.
