Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Uni hosts 'major projects' seminar 

CQUniversity this week hosted and sponsored a free seminar aimed at helping manufacturers and value-adding service providers to become involved in major projects in Central Queensland.

The Rockhampton Regional Development Limited event (Feb 23) explained how the Industry Capability Network (ICN) can link suppliers and major projects.

[ICN provides a service to the manufacturing and engineering sector in Queensland by assisting in procurement and project management to maximize local content.]

Speakers from Gladstone Pacific Nickel Ltd and Gladstone Ports Corporation Limited highlighted how they can provide businesses with opportunities.

They also provided information about projects in the local region and some of the headline projects around the state.

ICN Industrial Projects Coordinator Eddo Roggeveen was also on the program.
