Warm welcome for international students

New CQU international students from the USA, Fiji, India, Hungary, Germany and Norway were given a warm welcome reception by the Rotary Club of North Rockhampton at an international dinner held recently.

PhotoID:1361 The dinner at CQU Rockhampton's Capricorn Lounge gave the students a chance to mingle with the Rotary members.

Each of the students addressed the gathering and commented on the warmth of their welcome to the Rockhampton community.

Several Rotary members generously offered to become mentors to students during their time in Rockhampton.

The Rotary Club of North Rockhampton has been hosting this welcome to students for many years. It is a wonderful reflection of the community’s willingness to embrace students from a wide range of countries.

This term, 38 students have arrived at CQU Rockhampton to undertake a two-year or three-year degree program.

A further 135 are visiting CQU as part of Study Abroad, AustraLearn or Exchange programs which enable one or two terms of study at CQU to be credited as part of the degree they are completing from their home university.
