Slice of support for mentor program
Published on 18 August, 2008
Gladstone's Student Support Centre is currently recruiting for the 2009 Student Mentor and Leadership Program and recently hosted a pizza lunch to spread the word.
The Student Mentor & Leadership Program assists new students to quickly feel at home at CQUniversity and provides support during their first year of tertiary studies.
Student Mentors are students who have 'been there' and survived, as well as having acquired a great deal of information about the tertiary education environment and how the 'system' works.
Student Mentor benefits include: practical professional development, a certificate of achievement (a great addition to a CV) and a 10% discount on textbooks at the CQUniversity Bookshop. Additionally, there is a presentation dinner at the end of Term 2, which provides the opportunity to celebrate the year with fellow mentors.
Applications close on Friday, August 29. For further information and to apply: http://studentservices.cqu.edu.au/mentoring.html .
